Welcome to ACBL Bridge Unit 234
Unit 234
invites players of all abilities to join in its
weekly games. All sessions are open to anyone who knows
how to play bridge, and there are special weekly games just for novice and
intermediate players. Winners and runners-up are awarded masterpoints from the
American Contract Bridge League. Standby partners are available, and kibitzers
are always welcome.
All games are duplicate style, which means each deal is played at several tables
during the session. You don't need any special knowledge to enter. Everyone
plays "regular" bridge, but the game is scored by a comparison method
instead of by total points. Unlike rubber bridge, your score at duplicate depends only on how well you
bid and play the cards you hold -- not on how "good" your cards actually are.
Standby partners are available, and kibitzers are always welcome.
Unit clubs in Lawrence, Leavenworth, Manhattan and Topeka all have regular weekly games.
The complete schedule is available.
